Bhaktapur Multiple Campus successfully conducted a self-funded Faculty Capacity Enhancement Workshop on Jestha 3, 2082, which was a key follow-up to the main knowledge-sharing sessions held on Chaitra 24, 2081, under the Nurturing Excellence in Higher Education initiative of the Faculty of Management, Tribhuvan University. The event was organized by the Research Management Cell (RMC) of the campus to empower faculty members with updated teaching methodologies, research skills, and leadership competencies essential in today’s evolving academic environment.

The program featured distinguished resource persons trained by the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Management, including Dr. Gyani Shah, Dil Krishna Sahu, and Dr. Kishor Hakuduwal, who shared valuable insights and practical strategies to help educators adapt to new trends in higher education.

The workshop’s Chief Guest, Prof . Dr. Dilip Parajuli, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Management, emphasized the growing need for continuous capacity enhancement initiatives in academic institutions. In his address, he highlighted that as global education standards advance, it is imperative for colleges to equip their faculty with modern tools and updated knowledge to remain competitive. He further remarked that capacity development extends beyond subject expertise to include classroom management, innovative teaching-learning practices, integration of research into pedagogy, and leadership development, all of which are fundamental to institutional growth. He also stressed that areas such as digital literacy, curriculum design, assessment methods, mentorship, and collaborative research have become vital components of faculty capacity building. Dr. Parajuli encouraged all faculty members to actively participate in such initiatives and apply the acquired learnings for the benefit of students and the institution alike.

The program was chaired by Prof. Dr. Arjun Kumar Gautam, Chief of the Research Management Cell, who expressed his commitment to regularly organizing similar workshops to strengthen the campus’s academic culture. The welcome speech was delivered by Assistant Campus Chief of the Management Faculty, Laxmi Sundar Lawaju, who underscored the importance of continuous professional development and extended gratitude to the experts for their valuable contributions.

Campus Chief Dr. Kabita Luitel addressed the gathering, applauding the enthusiastic participation of the faculty members and noting that such initiatives align with the campus’s vision of cultivating an academic environment that fosters innovation, research, and quality education.

The closing session was graced by Prof. Dr. Mahahanda Chalise, Dean of the Faculty of Management, who delivered a motivating closing address. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Chalise appreciated the proactive steps taken by Bhaktapur Multiple Campus in organizing such self-funded, impactful programs, setting an exemplary benchmark for other institutions. He reiterated that capacity enhancement is a shared responsibility that must be continuously pursued to uphold the academic integrity and global competitiveness of Tribhuvan University. He urged all faculty members to remain dedicated to lifelong learning, to translate new knowledge into their daily teaching and research practices, and to become role models for their students and colleagues alike. He further assured the continued support of the Dean’s Office for similar future initiatives aimed at enhancing the academic excellence of constituent campuses.

Faculty participants included Associate Prof. Prashuram Gelal, Basanti Acharya, Laxmi Sundar Lawaju, Sanubabu Bhujel, Gopi Bhandari, Janardan Sharma, Sundar Suwal, Srijana Shrestha, Jagateshwori Koju from the Management Faculty, and Dr. Saroj Kumar Timilsina, Hari Sundar Suwal, Jeeb Lal Belbase, Ram Daresh Sah, and Basistha Rijal from the Humanities Faculty.

This capacity enhancement workshop is expected to have a lasting impact by equipping educators with renewed perspectives, practical skills, and greater motivation to deliver high-quality education while contributing meaningfully to academic research and community engagement.
